GSMA Thrive 2020 Themes

The GSMA Thrive 2020 events connect the mobile industry to share ideas, drive innovation and impact the technological landscape.

5G and Leadership for Connectivity: This theme brings together ministers, policy makers and digital leaders to lead us into a connected future. The varied use cases for 5G apply further pressure to build nimble networks that are secure, and able to function for different requirements across a variety of sectors. What’s next for connectivity standards? Join our 5G discussions at the GSMA Thrive events series.

Disruptive Innovation: New business models, technologies and ideas are changing the ways we live and interact, bringing everyone closer together and making lives better for communities across the region. Sessions will focus on the “what next”, bringing to the fore the experts that are creating the innovations that we will all rely on in the future. What can we expect to see this next wave of technology? What will be the net impact on society, the environment and our planet?

IoT: We are at the dawn of a fully connected world. More data from connected devices will optimise decision making, increased efficiency will allow greater output, and connected devices will minimize downtime and maintenance costs. This theme will examine the business opportunities behind the technology and explore the new landscape of data and connectivity.

Digital Economy and Inclusion: This is the age of the new digital economy. Join us for fearless discussions as we navigate through the innovations that are redefining services today and explore what technological revolutions, driven by big data and AI we can foresee to shape the physical and cyber landscapes of our economies.

Digital Resilience: Digital Resilience has become a more significant topic following global events of 2020. Security in a digital society risk mitigation is essential – not just to prevent harm, but to minimise its impact and to recover quickly.
